DVR Position of Target Image Tracking System and Tracking Method in DVRDigital Video Recorder

PURPOSE: An apparatus and a method for tracking a target image in a digital video recorder are provided to easily recognize the position of a target and display relative coordinates with respect to a specific point. CONSTITUTION: An apparatus for tracking a target image in a digital video recorder includes at least two monitoring cameras located at an area to be monitored, a device for changing the positions of the monitoring cameras, a zooming device for magnifying or reducing images captured by the cameras, an environment controller for allowing the cameras to normally operate even in nasty weather, and a GPS receiver for instantaneously finding out the position of a camera. In the digital video recorder, triangulation is used for tracking the position of a target image. The GPS receiver is attached to the monitoring camera in order to instantaneously find out the position of the camera.
