PURPOSE: A lower shifted worth control rod is provided to be capable of improving economic efficiency and stability of an atomic power station by changing an output easily. CONSTITUTION: A control rod is provided to adjust an output of a pressured water reactor which comprises a pellet. A strength of a neutron absorption force of the pellet has a strength variation distribution so as to be increased from a top of an axis of the control rod in a lower direction relatively. The control rod is divided into a multi-purpose control rod and a regulating control rod. A strength variation slope of the multi-purpose control rod is relatively more smooth than that of the regulating control rod.
