Electrochemical process for removal of toxic heavy metals in sludges

PURPOSE: Provided is an electrochemical process for removal of toxic heavy metals in sludge. By the process, a sludge cell(3) made from PET(polyethylene terephthalate resin) is installed between anode and cathode. The anode is carbon, and the cathode is stainless steel. CONSTITUTION: According to the process, when sludge containing heavy metals is injected into the sludge cell(3), direct current is supplied by a power supplier(5). Simultaneously, cleaning solution(6) is injected to the anode(1), and electrolytic solution(7) is injected to the cathode(2) for electrolysis process.
