PURPOSE: A method for designing the optimum arrangement of press molds and a recording medium storing thereof are provided to strengthen the price competitiveness of associated car enterprises by saving manufacturing cost according to the exactness of blank arrangement, the shortening of working hours, and the increase of a Ur(Utilization ratio). CONSTITUTION: In the state that N(repetition frequency) is 0, a DASB(Double-Array Single-Blank) algorithm calls an SASB(Single-Array Single-Blank) algorithm. The DASB algorithm processes BHMIN(the minimum blank height), BHMAN(the maximum blank height), SLMIN(the minimum slitting height variable) = (coil width/BHMIN), and SLMAX(the maximum slitting height variable)=(coil width/BHMAN x 2). The DASB algorithm compares the case that SLMAX is smaller than 1 and the case that SLMAX is larger than 1. The DASB algorithm obtains "slitting width = coil width" in case that SLMAX is smaller than 1. In case that SLMAX is larger than 1, the DASB algorithm obtains "slitting width = coil width/((int)SLMAX+1)". If "slitting width = coil width/((int)SLMAX+1)" is obtained, the DASB algorithm increases N by 1. In case that N = 1, the DASB algorithm calls the SASB algorithm. The DASB algorithm judges the relation between slitting width and BHMIN. In case that slitting width is smaller than BHMIN, the DASB algorithm selects the optimum Ur. In case that slitting width is larger than BHMIN, the DASB algorithm increases N by 1 and obtains "slitting width = coil width/(N+1)". If "slitting width = coil width/(N+1)" is obtained, the DASB algorithm calls the SASB algorithm.
