PURPOSE: A device for preventing a hit-and-run accident is provided to easily find a hit-and-run vehicle and to arrest the hit-and-run driver in the early stage when the driver ran away without settling the mess left after a traffic accident. CONSTITUTION: A device for preventing a hit-and-run accident comprises an electrolytic pipe(1) disposed to a bumper longitudinally; two ionic plates(3,4); an electric cap installed to the bumper; and plural marks(10). The electrolytic pipe has electrolyte within, and the electrolytic pipe is broken by the impact given to the bumper. The ionic plates have each different ionization tendency. The electrolytic pipe is electrically connected to a lead wire(6) and ionized by electrolyte and the electrolytic pipe induces electricity to the lead wire. The electric cap is produced by the ionic plates and exploded by the electricity flowing along the lead wire. The marks indicate data about each vehicle. The marks are piled up to the upper part of the electric cap and dispersed by the explosion of the electric cap.
