FIELD: medicine, biotechnology, biochemistry, molecular biology. SUBSTANCE: invention relates to method of in vitro analysis of DNA-polymerase activity of human hepatitis B virus (HBV). Method involves the use of oligonucleotide from sample as 5'-oligonucleotide in polymerase chain reaction (PCR) amplification of HBV DNA-polymerase where promoter of SP6-virus polymerase is inserted, direct transcription and translation of PCR-products in the presence of radioactive labeled agent and measurement of HBV DNA-polymerase priming. Invention provides also the use of such analysis for analysis of activity of different serum samples, for screening for inhibitors of HBV DNA- polymerase and for testing and/or screening potential medicinal agents against HBV for their capacity to inhibit DNA-priming activity of human HBV DNA-polymerase activity.
