FIELD: sea transport+ADs- designing experimental model basins. SUBSTANCE: proposed experimental model basin has ice chamber, bowl filled with liquid and divided into working section and docking part, as well as refrigerating machines with ice chamber cooling system. Basin is filled with fresh water and is provided with movable bottom of adjustable height of raising. Movable bottom is provided with water bypass ports. Surface of movable bottom is coated with material having adhesion to ice of no less than 30 kPa. Edge of movable bottom on side of docking part is provided with protective bead whose height exceeds double thickness of ice field being formed+ADs- other edges are provided with devices for forming hydraulic seal of slot between edges of movable bottom and walls of bowl, thus forming open trough-shaped reservoir on movable bottom filled with aqueous NaCl solution for growth of ice field. Raising and lowering of movable bottom shall be performed with through holes open and hydraulic seal removed. Movable bottom is raised above water and layer of aqueous NaCl solution is delivered to its surface+ADs- said solution is cooled to 0.3 to 0.5 C for forming ice field. Then, movable bottom is lowered to depth stipulated by experiment. EFFECT: reduced power requirements+ADs- enhanced durability of basin equipment. 3 cl, 2 dwg
