FIELD: building materials industry. SUBSTANCE: invention can be used for production of high-temperature insulation materials from superfine, predominantly, basalt fiber. Plant to produce superfine basalt fiber from mineral refractory melts comprises container of mineral refractory melts in the form of funnel-stabilizer. Funnel-stabilizer is joined to vertex of pyramidal reactor with conical working space which communicates by means of through conduits with sections of plasma generator. Each section of plasma generator comes in the form of plasma burner linked under excessive pressure to source of gaseous energy carrier. Base of conical working space of reactor is coupled with the help of water- cooled adapter to refractory lining to form central vertical feeding conduit with upper zone of diffuser of blasting head. Blasting head has tangent nozzles in zone of fiber drawing connected through ring distributing collector to pipe-line supplying hot gaseous energy carrier under pressure. EFFECT: reduced number of non-fibrous inclusions, increased handling convenience, diminished energy capacity and prolonged service life of plant. 1 cl, 1 dwg
