Freely moving 3-D object that can be moved in virtual 3-D space. The surface of the object is covered in virtual command buttons or links. An inventive object can be covered in up to 300 command buttons that can be used as an interface to a software package. A wheel or scroll mouse can be used with the virtual object to simplify and speed access to all of the operating buttons.
