The safety processing has the entered settings handled by two independent processing channels (Ka1,Ka2), with comparison and checking of the processing channel outputs. The settings are converted into command telegrams by each channel, one channel transmitting the command telegram to the signal box, which returns an echo telegram fed via the first channel to the second channel, with comparison of the echo telegram with the stored command telegram, a check sum transmitted to the signal box by each channel and the check sums compared for allowing execution of the command. An Independent claim for a safety processing device for manually entered settings for a railway signal box is also included.
