Method for measuring the dielectric properties of a substrate (7) in which the propagation behavior of high frequency electromagnetic waves in the medium under investigation is used for measurement purposes. Accordingly the coupling of energy between a fixed frequency oscillator and a fixed frequency receiver is used via an aperiodic transceiver antenna system. An Independent claim is made for a method for measurement of the dielectric or density properties of non-conducting material.
