The table has markings (9, 9a) for support of a body part corresponding to the marking (e.g. head, thorax, abdomen) and a display (7) for displaying the corresponding body part or marking. An operating device (6) is used to position the table in a start position so that a marking is positioned for exposure to the radiation source.
