A thermoplastic polymer mixture (I) containing a polyamide (II) and a polymer (III), where the melt viscosity, as measured at 280 deg C is 100-20,000 s-1 is at most 75% of the melt viscosity measured in accordance with ISO 1443 of polyamide (II) at 280 deg C, and the boundary surface tension between a melt of polyamide (II) and a melt of polyamide (III) at 280 deg C, measured in accordance with US patent 5,50,607 by the Spinning-Drop-Method is in the region of 0-10 mN/m. A thermoplastic polymer mixture (I) containing (wt.%): (a) a polyamide (II)(50-99.9), (b) a polymer (III)( 0.1-50), where the melt viscosity, as measured in accordance with ISO 1443 of polyamide (II) at 280 deg C over the whole Scherraten (sic) region is 100-20,000 s-1 is at most 75% of the melt viscosity measured in accordance with ISO 1443 of polyamide (II) at 280 deg C, and the boundary surface tension between a melt of polyamide (II) and a melt of polyamide (III) at 280 deg C, measured in accordance with US patent 5,50,607 by the Spinning-Drop-Method is in the region of 0-10 mN/m. Independent claims are included for: (1) a process for preparation of a fiber by spinning a melt of a thermoplastic polymer, using the above polymer mixture (I) as the thermoplastic polymer; (2) a fiber obtained by the above process; (3) a carpet containing the above fiber; and (4) flat structure textiles containing the above fiber.
