Traffic information system with a traffic message center for transmission of traffic messages to a driver in the form of text messages based on a planned journey previously reported to the traffic center

Traffic information system for calculating intermediate points in a route planner system linking a start point with a destination point. Then in conjunction with planned departure times and driving times informs a driver of traffic interruptions when these occur at given daily times on a journey. Historical data is also taken into account when making journey prognoses.
