A contact-free method for determining the adhesion properties of surfaces, using a dynamic force microscope as adhesion sensor, involves controlled introduction of an oscillating measuring probe into the vicinity of a surface and evaluating the adhesion power of the surface from the variation in the oscillation behavior of the probe, one of the adhesion partners being the surface to be studied and the other being the probe tip.
