The dancing shoe has a number of vertical coil springs (14) between the sole (12) and lower sole segments (16,18). Lateral coil stabilizing springs (20) are between the vertical sole springs, along the line of the shoe, so that six vertical springs are linked together by four lateral stabilizing springs. There are four vertical springs under the heel, in a square layout.
