The flat heating body has a front wall formed by a flat plate and a rear wall formed by a plate provided with indentations, together with a forward flow and a backward flow (12) formed between the flat plate and the channeled plate along two parallel edges. Channels issuing in the forward and back flows are separated from each other by the indentations. Recesses (13,14) are arranged on the backward flow side and the heating medium feed to the forward flow (11) occurs via the recess (13) in a connecting conduit (3), which runs within the heating body inside a channel (22). The connecting conduit at its forward flow-side end has a valve insert accommodation, on which a regulating unit (4) is provided.
