The electro-erosion machine tool has self adjusting feed of the electrode rod (1) with respect to the housing (3). The rod can be mounted in a shape memory metal which is heated and cooled to control the electrode position. The heating can be caused by electrical induction. The heating current can be controlled to control the positioning of the electrode.
