The outlet channel (10) of the pump is in spiral form and encompasses the outlet (51) of the impeller (50). The width and depth of the outlet channel gradually increase in the flow direction. The outside diameter of the outlet channel runs concentrically to the inside diameter of the circular pump casing (40). An outlet separating wall section (20) is connected to the rear edge of the outlet channel and extends the outlet channel and overlaps the forward edge of the outlet channel so that an overall outlet channel length is created which encompasses the impeller outlet by an angle greater than 360 deg. An independent claim is included for a casing unit for a pump with a spiral form outlet channel.
