The device is characterised by an annular potentiometer comprising two relatively thin plates (1,2) clamped (3) in a sandwich structure with an overlaid thin plate (8) carrying two cams (10,11) of different length which operate micro-switches (12,13) limiting the relative movement. One plate carries a resistive track, and the other carries one or more sliding contacts. A projection (1a) from the lower plate is drilled (5) for fixing to one of the parts pivotable about an axis through the central hole (7). The middle plate (2) has a projection (2a) with a slot (6) for a follower on the other part.
