Disclosed is a contact wire holder, especially an arched contact wire holder, for suspending contact wires and cables in catenary systems, comprising at least one base body (1) with an insulator (2) on which a connecting armature (4) with means for adjusting and fixing the contact wire holder to a cross-span adjuster is mounted. Said means comprise two identically configured side arms (8,9) that are coupled to the connecting armature (4) on both sides of the base body (1).
