Diffusion of commercial product details in short video sequences to a mobile phone or laptop computer user, in which screen capacity of mobile device and performance of telecommunication network is taken into account in real time

The diffusion method has a stage in which a server (3) calculates and adapts short duration video sequences (5) as a function of the display capacity of a (Universal Multimedia Transmission System ) UMTS terminal (2). The server adapts in real time, the transmission flow and/or the calculation and/or the selection of the video sequences to the amount of data received by the terminal, by taking into account performance of the telecommunication network. The performance is evaluated in real time by a computer (18). Independent claims are also included for the following: a diffusion system and server. Method for diffusion in an ergonomic fashion to a mobile user, on request, data relative to current life style and associated with practical skills. The user has a UMTS mobile terminal (2) connected to a UMTS norm telecommunication network (6), and to a server linked to a database (4). The database includes short duration video sequences (5) illustrating practical skills. The method includes the following stages: (a) server recognizes the UMTS mobile terminal using the latters identifier; the server calculates the display capacity of the mobile terminal, taking into account the screen size and/or computing power and/or image processor of the mobile terminal; the user (1) requests from the server data relative to a current life style linked to a practical skill using the mobile terminal (a) either by inputting the data by selection (21.1) and/or pointer (21.2) and/or keyboard (10) associated with the mobile terminal, or (b) by vocal command (28), the server having a voice recognition system (12); in response to the request a selection is made in the server database (4) of the video sequences (5) illustrating the practical skill, as a function of the request and the mobile terminals display capacity; the video sequences are then transmitted to the mobile terminal via the UMTS telecommunication network.
