Catalyst of specific formula is used as a catalyst for nucleophilic substitution reactions preferably aromatic substitution reactions. Catalyst of formula (I) is used as a catalyst for nucleophilic substitution reactions preferably aromatic substitution reactions. R1, R2, R3, R4, R5 and R6 = hydrocarbyl radicals; Pn (preferably the same) = metalloid group V elements of a period higher than N; and Z = group V metalloid preferably distinct from Pn, and preferably N(N, P, As, Sb). Independent claims are also included for: (1) compositions including the catalysts (I); and (2) preparation of compounds (I).
