Sea bed food producing habitats created with scrap iron and steel

A method of utilising scrap iron/steel by depositing in a river, a lake or the sea. When the iron /steel is submerged in water the metal corrodes releasing chemical energy which is important to the chemical synthesis of food in the form of carbohydrates and proteins. The submerged metal objects release the energy required to sustain life at the base of the food chain especially in lightless zones.
