PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for simply and surely separating nerve trunk cells or precursor cells originating from cerebral cortex or cerebral basal ganglia anlagen, because the nerve trunk cells or precursor cells originating from the cerebral cortex region or cerebral basal ganglia anlagen region exhibit different natures and produce different nerve cells and further because it is essential to separate both the cells, in order to obtain the single cell group in vitro.;SOLUTION: This method for simply and surely separating the nerve trunk cells or precursor cells originating from the cerebral cortex or cerebral basal ganglia anlagen is characterized by ligating a DNA containing a gene promoter region encoding a protein always expressed in the nerve trunk cells or precursor cells originating from the cerebral cortex or a gene promoter region encoding a protein always expressed in the nerve trunk cells or precursor cells originating from the cerebral basal ganglia anlagen to a visible reporter DNA or a medicine-resistant gene DNA, transducing the ligated DNA to a cell group comprising the nerve trunk cells or precursor cells originating from the cerebral cortex ant the nerve trunk cells or precursor cells originating from the cerebral basal ganglia anlagen, and then separating the originating cells from each other on the basis of the presence or absence of the reporter expression or medicine resistance acquisition.
