PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an inexpensive communication system capable of increasing a transmission capacity.;SOLUTION: The communication system is provided with: optical branching devices 15a, 15b for branching optical signals transmitted through an optical fiber 14; optical/power line carrier apparatuses 16a, 16b connected to low voltage power lines 4a to 4d to supply power to a plurality of users 8a to 8d, for superimposing an electric signal obtained by converting the optical signals outputted from the optical branching devices 15a, 15b on the power sent from the low voltage power lines 4a to 4d and transmitting the result to users 8a to 8d through power line carrier; and repeaters 9b to 9d connected to power service lines 6c to 6h and amplifying a communication signal for the power line carrier.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
