PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a snow melting device which is easily and inexpensively set on an existing roof of a different structure and form, exerts a positive snow melting effect, and is excellent in appearance.;SOLUTION: The snow melting device functions to melt snow accumulating on the roof, and is provided with a slender rope-like heater 32, a heater holding member 31, and mounting fixtures 33. The heater holding member 31 holds and covers the rope-like heater 32 so as to linearly set the same along a roof width direction (arrow B-B' direction).
