PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacturing a porous membrane which method can uniformly form pores with a sufficient size and allows no material for forming pores to remain and the porous membrane obtained by this method.;SOLUTION: The method for manufacturing the porous material comprises as follows: a process for preparing a precursor comprising a crosslinkable material (a) for forming a skeleton and a thermally disappearing material (b) which comprises a polyoxyalkylene resin as the main component and is decomposed and volatilized by heating; a process for heating the precursor to a temperature equal to or higher than that at which the thermally disappearing material (b) disappears; and a process wherein the crosslinkable material is crosslinked, before or during the above heating process, to form a skeleton phase. The thermally disappearing material (b) disappears in the crosslinkable material to form the porous material having a number of pores surrounded by the skeleton phase.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI
