PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the number of freight cars traveling on the ground by conveying/home-delivering light weight freights and mail articles by using a a buried public utility conduit.;SOLUTION: Since freights are carried through the pneumatic pipe in a subway tunnel, no traffic congestion is caused. The system is not influenced by weather (rain or snow) or traffic regulations, so the freights can be home-delivered relatively stably. The freights are brought by a user to the closest station instead of being collected, and delivered by bicycle after the arrival at a destination station, thus the costs can be reduced. Since the conveying power is air, exhaust gas CO2 is not emitted, thus the system can contribute to global environmental conservation (global warming reduction).;COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
