Stave cooler to be used in the method and the rear sealing method of blast furnace stave cooler

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily and surly seal the castable refractories packed into the spacing between a stave cooler back and a shell.;SOLUTION: The stave cooler 1 provided with a sealing material 4 along the peripheral edge of the back in such a manner that an aperture 5 is formed on the top end side of the back is mounted on the iron shell 6 of a blast furnace at the time of banking the blasting and thereafter the castable refractories 10 are poured from the iron shell 6 side into the spacing 8 between the iron shell 6 of the position enclosed with the sealing material 4 and the stave cooler 1 back and packed into the spacing. The blasting of a blast furnace is then started to cure the castable refractories 10 poured into the spacing 8 by furnace heat and to burn out the sealing material 4. The blast furnace is again put into the banking state and the castable refractories 10 are press fitted and packed from the iron shell 6 side into the burnt out space of the sealing material 4.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2001,JPO
