PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for conducting molten metal rolling without causing a black stripe defect and a streak, in order to enable application of a molten metal rolling method of low cost to manufacture of an aluminum alloy substrate for a PS plate. ;SOLUTION: According to Claim 1, a molten Al alloy containing Fe of 0.05-1.0%, Cu of 0.002-0.03%, Si of 0.25% or less, Ti of 0.0025-0.01% and B of 0.0001-0.0004% is molten metal-rolled to be 2-10 mm thick by the molten metal rolling method and regulated so that the mean grain size in the plate width direction of the surface in the state of the molten metal rolling being finished be 200 μm or less. According to Claim 2, the molten Al alloy containing Fe, Cu and Si in the same amounts as the above, Ti of 0.01% or less and B less than 0.0001% is molten metal-rolled to be 2-10 mm thick and controlled so that the surface of the plate, at least, be recrystallized in the state of the molten metal rolling being finished and thus the mean grain size in the plate width direction of the surface be regulated to be 200 μm or less.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2001,JPO
