PURPOSE: To completely automate the delivery of a medium into and from a library device in reltation to the library system control system for controlling a complex library system. ;CONSTITUTION: A medium transfer command 2 for instructing the delivery of a medium between the library devices is generated by a library device control program 1, based on either medium preparation instructing information stored in a medium preparation instructing file 9 or a typical carrier regulation stored previously in a carrier regulation management file 5 and medium information stored in a medium management file 7 by a host program 10. In response to the contents of the medium transfer command 2, the delivery of a medium between main case library devices 3a and 3b having their respective input/output devices 3f and sub-case library devices 3c and 3d is performed by the complex library system 3 with medium carrier mechanisms 3e.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1994,JPO
