PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device capable of retrieving the information of books matched with the purpose of a retrieving person even in the case where an appropriate keyword or the like for retrieval is not recognized. ;SOLUTION: This device is provided with a retrieval space construction part 100 having a three-dimensional space construction device 110 and a three- dimensional anchor construction device 120 anchor, etc., a retrieval part 200 having a fuzzy retrieval device 210 for specifying an anchor to be a link origin for retrieving relating information, adding a relating anchor and performing fuzzy retrieval and a book retrieval device 260 for generating a retrieval expression for book retrieval from selected anchor information and retrieving book information based on the retrieval expression, etc., and a data management device 1 for managing data. Thus, even when an appropriate keyword or the like is not recognized, a rough retrieval object like 'in this neighborhood' is specified while viewing the classification system of the books from various directions in the three-dimensional space, thus the relating information corresponding to it is obtained and the required information of the book is finally retrieved.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1999,JPO
