The system comprises a central database (3) on which all the information is stored, a club terminal (2) for each club in the system and a portable personal terminal (1) for each club member. Information can be exchanged via a closed network between the terminals and between the terminals and the database. An Independent claim is also included for a method for operating the system, in which the club member retrieves information from the database via an interconnection in his or her personal terminal.
