A connector piece (4) is secured between the sucker (2) and the object (1) being held in place by the sucker. The connector piece is secured close to the edge (3) of the sucker. Pivoting the object causes the connector piece to lift the edge of the sucker, eliminating the vacuum between the sucker and the surface to which it is attached.
