摘要
The invention relates to a process for producing a sheet or a strip made up of steel having a reduced carbon content and to a sheet or a strip produced by said process. According to the invention, the process for producing a sheet or strip for making a can obtained by drawing and flattening, of the beverage can-type, uses a steel having a chemical composition consisting of less than 0.008 % carbon, between 0.10 and 0.30 manganese, less than 0.006 % nitrogen, between 0.01 and 0.06% aluminium, less than 0.015% phosphorus, less than 0.020% sulphur, less than 0.020% silicon, a maximum of 0.08 % of one or more elements selected from copper, nickel and chromium, the remainder being iron and residual impurities, the slab being hot rolled into a sheet or foil having a thickness of between 1.8 and 4.5 mm. Then the resulting sheet or foil is cold rolled with such a reduction ratio calculated for a thickness of between 0.20 mm and 0.32 mm, and then subjected to a recrystallization annealing at a temperature below the thermal point Ac1 and finally cold rerolled with a reduction ratio of between 10 and 40 %. The resulting sheet or strip has a yield strength in the direction of the length of between 350 MPa and 600 Mpa for a final thickness thereof of between 0.22 and 0.18 mm.
