The proposed method for determining activity of nitric oxide in phagocyte synthase consists in isolating the phagocyte cells, incubating the isolated cells, adding Greece reagent to the incubated mix, determining the contend of nitric metabolites at an optical radiation wavelength of 540 nm, and evaluating the content of nitric oxide for 106 cells. In the analysis, specific substrate and specific nitric oxide inhibitor are used, and proteins are sequentially removed from the incubated mix. The activity of nitric oxide is determined by the equation E = (C/X?106)/30, where E is the activity of nitric oxide (nmol/106 cells/min), C is the concentration of nitric oxide (nmol), and X is the number pf cells in the sample.
