The mechanism to give a direction change, in a production line, has carriers at the rails (1) for the movement of pallets by conveyor belts (3). On entry into the apex of the direction change point, the inner belt is interrupted at the level of the intersection. A carrier (5) is at the side of a frame at right angles to the entry direction, with a row of free-rotating roller balls (6) aligned with the inner belt axis on the new direction. They support the moving end side of the pallet as its direction of movement is shifted to a line at right angles from the entry orientation.
