The invention relates to methods for the transgenic expression of nucleic acidsequences, predominantly in plant tissue containing starch, preferably infruits, roots, seeds or nodules. The nucleic acid sequence is expressed byusing a starch synthesis 3 promotor as a control element. The invention alsorelates to transgenic expression cassettes and vectors comprising a starchsynthesis 3 promotor, in addition to use thereof in producing food for bothanimals and humans, seeds, pharmaceutical products or fine chemicals.
