The present invention discloses use of osteogenic growth peptide (OGP) for significantly promoting proliferation of hemopoietic progenitor cell in erythron, and effective OGP therapy on experimental aplastic anemia (EAA). The present invention also provides a method of using OGP for promoting growth of hemopoietic progenitor cell in erythron in vitro, and use of OGP or its related-peptides in manufacturing of a pharmaceutical composition for treating aplastic anemia and the like.
