The invention relates to computer diagnosis. The inventive system for forming volume images in millimetre and sub-millimetre wave band is provided with a transmitting-receiving part comprising a generator and at least two incrementally frequency-varying signals which have a mutual phase coherency and differ from each other by a constant value with respect to the frequency thereof. One of the signals is transmitted to an object under observation through the transmitting antenna for exploring it. The receiving part is provided with a matrix of identical receiving coherent detectors, each detector comprising a receiving antenna, a mixer, a coherent quadrature detector whose reference signal is embodied in the form of a difference signal between two phase-coherent signals thereof. Each element of the receiving matrix is provided with a function for the coherent detection of radiation which is focused at the location point of the receiving antenna thereof. The second signal of said generator and the difference signal thereof are transmitted to the reference channels of the corresponding mixers and the reference channels of the coherent quadrature detectors, respectively.
