A SEA-ISLAND TYPE COMPOSITE FIBER FOR RAISED WARP KNIT FABRIC, AND A PROCESS OF PREPARING FOR THE SAME

PURPOSE: The titled sea-island type conjugate fiber with an immaterial lowering of physical properties of a yarn after the dissolution of a sea component by suitably controlling the melting viscosity characteristics of a sea component and an island component within a specified extent is provided, which is suitable as yarn for the manufacture of raised warp knitted fabric. CONSTITUTION: In sea-island type conjugate fiber prepared by using an easily alkali-soluble copolymerized polyester as a sea component and conventional polyesters as a land component and spin-drawing, a melting viscosity difference(ΔMV9,000) between the sea component and the land component at a shear rate of 9,000 is 20 to 70% of the melting viscosity difference(ΔMV500) between the sea component and the land component at a shear rate of 500.
