The procedure for the automatic detection of faults during radioscopy of a complex component consists of segmenting the radioscopic image into two classes of region in order to obtain a binary image called a mask. Within this mask there are regions which can be evaluated and regions which cannot be evaluated which are assigned the values '1' and '0' respectively. The radioscopic image is then subjected to conditional morphological transformations which are evaluated from a conditional structural element. The conditional structural element is obtained by the intersection of classical structural element and the mask.
