PURPOSE: Provided is a hepatotoxic-resistant composition which contains an extract of Acanthopanax senticosus or derivatives thereof, such as syringin and syringaresinol-di-O-beta-D-glucopyranoside compounds, and is effectively used to prevent and treat liver diseases and to make energy boosting. CONSTITUTION: An extract of Acanthopanax senticosus is obtained by using water, lower alcohol, a nonpolar solvent, or butyl alcohol. A hepatotoxic-resistant composition contains 0.0001-50% of syringin and syringaresinol-di-O-beta-D-glucopyranoside compounds derived from the butanol fractions of the Acanthopanax senticosus extract, and represented by the formula (I), wherein R1 is OCH3, R2 is O-Glc, R3 is OCH3, and R4 is CH2OH, and formula (II), wherein R1 is OCH3, R2 is O-Glc, R3 is OCH3, R4 is OCH3, R5 is O-Glc, and R6 is OCH3, respectively.
