PURPOSE: Provided is a composition for treating lumbar intervertebral disc herniation comprising a centipede as an active ingredient. It relieves edema, and reduces and removes projected lumbar disk. Therefore, it is thus used as a therapeutic agent for lumbar intervertebral disc herniation. CONSTITUTION: A pharmaceutical composition for treating lumbar intervertebral disc herniation is characterized by containing 0.01-0.5 mg/kg body weight/day of a centipede as an active ingredient, wherein the centipede has a powder form obtained by the steps of: pulverizing dried centipede, followed by extraction with purified water, treatment of alcohol, filtration and concentration, and drying.
