PURPOSE: Provided are a crown ether chiral stationary phase(CSP1) for a LC, which can dramatically extend the life of a column containing the same, while maintaining its optical resolution ability, and a chiral column packed with the chiral stationary phase. CONSTITUTION: The chiral crown ether chiral stationary phase(CSP1) is produced by reacting an anhydride of optically active (18-crown-6)-2,3,11,12-tetracarboxylic acid such as (2R,3R,11R,12R)- or (2S,3S,11S,12S)-1,4,7,10,13,16-hexaoxacyclooctadecane-2,3,11,12-tetracarboxylic acid, with bis(aminoalkyl) silica gel. The stationary phase produced by the method has double branches as represented by formula CSP1, in which n is an integer of 1-18. The chiral column is produced by packing the chiral stationary phase into an unpacked column for a LC or HPLC.
