PURPOSE: A paper air ticket replacement system is provided to replace a conventional paper air ticket with a smart card combined with an RF(Radio Frequency) IC chip and an antenna. CONSTITUTION: The system comprises several steps. A conventional paper air ticket replacement system is constructed by distributing an RF smart card to an existing member, installing a smart card reader/writer at a check-in counter of an airport, and integrating a payment system between a bank and an airport company system. An RF smart card is distributed to a new member via a credit certification and a registration process. The member accesses the airport system over the internet, passes a member certification process, and reserves for a seat of an airplane or other facilities. The member uses the RF smart card when the member exchanges the air ticket with a boarding pass or uses the facilities affiliated at or cooperated with the airport. The member makes a payment for the air ticket bought or the usage of the facilities by using the RF smart card.
