PURPOSE: A numbered literary work sale management system and method, and a literary work opening tool are provided to prevent a literary work from being opened over a network in a case that the literary work is not real or a user tries to open the literary work more than a limited number. CONSTITUTION: The system comprises a literary work sale management server(10), a bar code generation engine(31), a serial number generation engine(32) and a data encoding engine(23). The management server(10) selectively is connected to a client system, checks a download number of a literary work in a case of a download event, selects specific numbered literary works, inserts bar codes and serial numbers into the selected numbered literary works, encodes the literary works, and transmits the encoded literary works to a user. The bar code generation engine(23) selectively generates a series of bar codes, and inserts the generated bar codes into the literary works. The serial number generation engine(32) selectively generates a series of serial numbers, and insets the generated serial numbers into the literary works. The data encoding engine(23) encodes the literary works.
