摘要

PURPOSE: A composition containing self-stabilized dispersions of polymer particles in a non-aqueous non-silicone medium is provided. The polymer can form stable particles in the non-aqueous non-silicone medium without the addition of stabilizing polymer. Cosmetic or pharmaceutical compositions are prepared with the polymer particle dispersions. CONSTITUTION: The self-stabilized dispersions of polymer particles are dispersions of solid particles comprising: a backbone insoluble in a water-repellent non-silicone organic medium; and one or more acrylic polymers which comprise a side chain covalently bonded to the backbone and contain a part soluble in the medium. The polymer is obtained by free radical polymerization of one or more acrylic monomers to form the water insoluble backbone and one or more carbon-based macromonomers containing a reactive terminal group to form the side chain, in which the macromonomers have a weight average molecular weight of 200 or more.
