PURPOSE: An LCD device and an electronic apparatus are provided to maintain a liquid crystal layer between one pair of substrates, and to realize a transmissive display area for a transmissive display and reflective display areas for a reflective display within one dot area, thereby enabling high brightness and high gradation while suppressing display inferiority. CONSTITUTION: An initial alignment state is adopted with a vertical alignment mode by using a vertically aligned liquid crystal layer(50). Reflective display areas(R) are disposed while surrounding a transmissive display area(T) within one dot. An insulating film(21) for controlling thickness of the liquid crystal layer(50) is disposed in an area corresponding to the reflective display areas(R). On a substrate(25) opposite to a side where the insulating film(21) is formed, opening portions(31s) are disposed in common electrodes(31) located in positions corresponding to border areas of the reflective display areas(R) and the transmissive display area(T).
